Special notes:
i. The only child born in Quebec; all other Delage-dit-Lavigueur children were born in Ontario
ii. This child's mother is listed as "Virginie Racine," another name for Eleonore/Marie/Malvina. There's no evidence of another Joseph Lavigueur in this area in the census or the parish records, so I suspect that this is the couple in question, and that "Virginie" is a mistake.
iii. This child would have been still five years old in May of 1871, when the census for that year was taken at Belle River. This, I believe, is the "Elizabeth Lavigueur" listed in the census. Her godfather was Prudent Racine.(b. July 1846).
iv. The twin girls, Archange and Suzanne, died of dysentery in August of 1870. These are the only children attested to in both the parish records and the Ontario Vital statistics.
v. This child may have been stillborn; if she was baptized, then she should have been listed in the parish records - and she is not. Notice, also, the repetition of the name "Cecile" five years later.
vi. This is the only child, with the exception of the eldest who was baptized with the family name, "Delage," spelled "Deloge" in the parish record.
vii. The Drouin Institute microfilms for this parish stop at about 1876, and then resume in the early 20th century. I have no confirmation of the birth of these last three children, Cecile, Victor and Elizabeth. The Ontario records say they were born in Belle River, but give no further information.
